Sick Leave

Printer-friendly version

In the PSC-CUNY contract, sick leave is called “temporary disability.” Adjuncts receive a single sick day for each semester, which does not accrue. (See the March 2008 Clarion article At CUNY, Adjunct Health Care is Broken, pages 6-7.) If you are adjuncting and develop a prolonged health problem or injury requiring long-term recovery, call an adjunct grievance counselor in the PSC office for advice.

Full-time employees at CUNY accrue twenty sick days per year, and can accrue up to 160 days.
